EOS 108 Aluminum is the right solution for people who aren't too concerned about yacht weight, race performance offered by carbon construction, and would like to save a few million dollars on a lower yacht construction price. EOS 108 Aluminum is the right solution for these people.
There are definitely significant advantages to owning a metal boat. It's easy to maintain and repair, forgiving when abused and above all it's strong, which means it's safer at sea. Aluminum is a lightweight material. It weighs three times less than steel which means that the hull may weigh up to 50% less than a steel.
The EOS 108 Aluminum hull is designed by the proven Van de Stadt designer team. The Van de Stadt yacht designers have a large number of yachts worldwide created from their plans. All of these yachts may be navigated safely for years. Builder uses the same hull designed by Van de Stadt, but our own design team builds a different and more modern deck saloon. Because of our own designs, the entire yacht has a distinctive look.
This model has three versions:
- EOS 108 Aluminum Budget: The term ‘budget’ means a comfortable yacht with a cosmetic finish which is appropriate for its purpose. For example, there is no teak deck, the mast is made of aluminum with a conventional boom. The interior is casual and comfortable.
- EOS 108 Aluminum Deck Saloon: This yacht has a more luxurious feel, both inside and out. The hull has an extra layer of paint, a carbon mast and Park Avenue boom, and teak on deck. The engine room is finished in every detail, and the interior is luxurious, stylish and truly an eye catcher. (your choice of modern or traditional).
- EOS 108 Aluminum Saloon Hard Top: Same as EOS 108 Aluminum Deck Saloon but with a practical hard top (only available on solar versions)
Three different engine power versions:
Diesel, Hybid (Electric/Diesel), Solar Hybrid (Solar/Electric/Diesel).
The cost of a complete standard aluminum yacht is € 8.250.000 / 11.550.000 USD
The term ‘standard’ means a comfortable yacht, with a cosmetic finish which is appropriate for its purpose. For example, there will be no teak deck, the mast is made of aluminum with a conventional boom. The interior is casual and comfortable.
The building time for this kind of yacht is approximately 20 months.
The price for the building of a complete luxurious aluminum yacht is € 10.500.000 / 14.700.000 USD
This yacht will have a more luxurious feel, both inside and outside. The hull will have an extra layer of paint, there will be a carbon mast and Park Avenue boom, there is teak on deck, the engine room will be finished in every detail, and the interior will be luxurious, stylish and a real eye catcher (modern or traditional is your choice).
The building time for this kind of yacht is approximately 20 months.
What are the advantages of building in aluminum?
A ship's hull may be built of different materials and each material has its own specific strong and weak points. The builder is specialized in building aluminum yachts too.
We opted for aluminum as our preferred building material for the following reasons:
High trade-in value
Aluminum yachts have a very long service life and therefore maintain their value. After five to eight years the value equals the building costs.
Low weight
Aluminum is a lightweight material. It weighs three times less than steel. This means that the hull may weigh up to 50% less. A lighter hull leads to better sailing performance and less fuel consumption. The weight reduction also means that the draught can be reduced and that the investments in propulsion equipment and the engine will be lower.
Strong and safe
Aluminum guarantees a stiff and strong ship. Although it has a slightly lower tensile strength, the strength vs. weight ratio of aluminum is better than that of steel. The chances of the hull being punctured after a collision is considerably lower than with a fiberglass or wooden hull. This makes aluminum yachts safer yachts, especially at sea, when distances to reach the shore and emergency assistance are often vast. The image to the right gives a good example of this safety aspect. This aluminum ship stranded on a rock, but the hull was not punctured.
Long-lasting material
Aluminum does not rust. Aluminum reacts very quickly with the oxygen in the air. This results in a thin layer of aluminum oxide on the outside of the metal. Any further contact with oxygen on the inside of the aluminum part is made impossible. Thus, the metal will not be affected by corrosion. The oldest aluminum sea-going yacht - built in 1936 - is still very much afloat.
Comfortable
An aluminum hull is stiff and little affected by vibration. An aluminum hull behaves well in heavy swell and choppy seas.
Low maintenance costs
An aluminum hull is easy to repair and has little vulnerability to small imperfections such as scratches. If there is any damage, it does not have to be repaired immediately as it does not corrode further or cause rust stains.
Flexible building material
Aluminum is a highly suitable material for the construction of custom-built yachts. Glass fiber yachts are built with the use of a mould. The mould's size can’t be varied and each hull made from this mould is exactly the same as its predecessor. Mass-produced yachts are usually built this way. An aluminum hull is built on its own deck and frames and each yacht can thus be tailored to the individual customer's needs. Changes may even be made during the building stage. Aluminum is easy to deform, which makes it possible to build complex round bilge hulls
The builder brings together its own associate shipyards worldwide (Australia, Netherlands, Poland, Croatia). The builder works with world-class shipbuilding experts. They currently specialize in building yachts from 60' to 200'. The builder has worldwide network of competent, experienced shipbuilders are professionals that guarantee professional delivery and high quality service.
The builder is not focused like many others which create one hull from one material at every 10 or 15 feet for similar models. Their product lines usually have one smaller and one bigger yacht inside a single product line; they have paletes of 3 different hull material types: carbon, aluminum, and glass-epoxy-composite. They can build both yachts and catamarans.
Finally, remember why we are the most popular and proud:
The builder is the first HYBRID PROPULSION and SOLAR SYSTEM of yachts used in SERIALIZED PRODUCTION worldwide!
All vessels are built in collaboration with their own network of reputable shipyards. Their associated shipyards are authorized and specialized in building their vessels. They closely cooperate with the builder head office naval architects team.
Five authorized shipyards: Australia, Poland, Netherlands, Croatia( two areas )
The builder can summarize their vision into 3 concise points. Every old or new yacht follows these simple but valuable rules.
1. Cost-effectiveness and an extraordinary price-performance ratio: You will always find that our yachts are one step cheaper from more popular yacht brands, but at same time, price-performance is the same or better.
2. Latest yacht building technologies: They use carbon hull building, new hybrid engines and other high-tech solutions.
3. Ecology: Every yacht has available a hybrid (diesel/electrical power) solution. They also offer an additional option in which every one of their yachts may be equipped with full solar power
The builder recognizes that each owner has an ideal yacht in mind, and they can build these custom yachts. The builder is specialized in high tech carbon yacht building, but can also build traditional aluminum and glass-epoxy-composite custom yachts too.
We invite you to schedule a meeting. The builder’s in-house design and engineering team listen to your needs to create new and better yacht forms and interior arrangements which meet all the unique requirements of our customers. The builder also offers a 30%-50% instant leasing program for custom yacht buildings.
